Welcome to SMITHS', a brand new orchard designed to produce top quality fruit on easy-to-pick dwarf apples trees. Located in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada, SMITHS' is family owned and operated by Steve and Micki Smith.

ABOUT SMITHS'

SMITHS' is a friendly place on a quiet country road where you can pick many delicious varieties of crunchy, tree-ripened apples.  While you are here, take a look in our Farm Market for fresh produce and local preserves, stop by our Artisan Bakery for a fresh baked apple pie, and see how apple cider is made at our Cider House.   Kids love to play on the giant straw fort and explore the many things to see and do on our farm! Our grounds are well maintained and both the Farm Market and orchard are wheelchair accessible.

THE HISTORY OF SMITHS'

Growing fruit, vegetables, and flowers has always been a part of Steve and Micki Smiths' lives.  Steve studied horticulture at the University of Guelph and thereafter taught greenhouse science at a local high school; Micki owned and operated a flower shop in Owen Sound.  In 1993 they bought a 72-acre cornfield on The River Road on which to build a new home.

Since they already enjoyed both people and plants, it was a natural fit to plan and develop SMITHS' Pick Your Own Apples- a place where families could enjoy an outing in the country, wandering in the carefully tended orchard and picking tree-ripened apples.

With the help of family and friends SMITHS' has prospered into a full-time operation with about 6000 trees, and offers many varieties of apples, a Farm Market, fun family activities, and an Artisan Bakery which makes fresh baked goods.

WHAT'S NEW

Hmmm...what could it be???

IN THE ORCHARD

As of the beginning of July approximately 50% of Ontario's apple crop has been lost to hail or frost damage. We feel very fortunate to have escaped these events so far and our crop is looking wonderful.
